Mission Statement

Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption, provides excellent Catholic Education to preschool through eighth grade students of Whatcom County. All students are expected to reach their potential, to achieve a strong faith in God, and to go forth and make a  lasting  difference in the world.

Philosophy Statement

Assumption Catholic School inspires students to discern their vocations through academic excellence and a rigorous curriculum. Parents, the primary educators of their children, work in partnership with teachers to provide a nurturing and caring environment  for a life of servant leadership. Students learn to serve with humility and compassion in their families, schools, churches, as well as local and global communities. As a ministry of the Church of the Assumption, Catholic values are integrated into an innovative curriculum of 21st century skills that encourage collaboration and critical thinking. These skills help students make wise decisions concerning respect for life, dignity of the human person, life-long health and well-being  in mind, body and spirit.

Financial Assistance Information:

Each year, it is our goal to meet the needs of all families who require assistance to attend Assumption Catholic School and to ensure fairness in the process. Tuition assistance is available to all families who qualify in kindergarten through eighth grade. Each year we ask families in need of tuition assistance to apply through FACTS. There is an application fee of $29 per family. The allocation team then reviews applications and makes awards based on need. Our determination for assistance is based on income reported on your tax return, and provides anywhere from $900 to $2400 per child, depending on need. This is an annual process as we know financial circumstances can often change.

We have TWO funding sources for Tuition Assistance:
Fulcrum Foundation The Fulcrum Tuition Assistance Grant Program (TAP) is designed for families and students currently enrolled or applying for the next school year in any Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Seattle. A family must apply each year through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to qualify for a grant. All awards are made based on financial need.
Application Portal Opens: 10/1/2024 (for the 2025-2026 school year)
Application Due Date: 12/31/2024 (for the 2025-2026 school year)

Assumption Catholic School Tuition Assistance. To apply, you are required to complete the FACTS Grant and Aid application. Each family situation will be reviewed and awards will be based on need.
Application Due Date: Ongoing - You can apply at any time
(Some money is reserved throughout the summer for new families who apply in June or July, but the majority of allocations are given when award letters go out in mid-April.)

Only ONE FACTS application is required per family for Fulcrum and/or Assumption Catholic School Tuition Assistance.
